Yes, Krabi offers many reasons for a visit. It's a town everyone should explore, and our experience here was wonderful. We didn't want to leave. During our first trip to Krabi in 2013, we fell in love with its backpacker-friendly atmosphere and countless adventure sports. We've been back several times since then to experience it even more.
Whether you're a traveling as a family, a couple, or a backpacker, this town has a lot to offer. Any local will tell you what makes it special is the fantastic museums and attractions and spectacular shopping.
Krabi Town is the capital of the Krabi Province. It's a resort town, but is often overlooked by tourists who head to a beachfront setting such as Railay Beach or Ao Nang. The town offers easy access to stunning natural beauty and beautiful caves.

1. Museums and Attractions
In the area you'll find mountain top temples such as Wat Tham Suea and natural spots such as Khao Khanap Nam Cave. In town there's the stunning Wat Kaew Korawaram temple as well.

The town's night market is fun to explore. There's also the popular Krabi Town Walking Street (where you'll find the night market) as well as some larger stores and small malls near town.
3. Food
It's not particularly known for its culinary scene, but Krabi Town does have great street food and a lively night market. For some of the best restaurants, head to Chao Fah Road.
4. Nightlife
There's a decent live music scene, but in general the town is quiet at night. There's also a good night market.

Why would you recommend Krabi to budget travelers? Or, why not?
Krabi town was cool with a nice local vibe, but the real gem was all of the nearby beach areas. The town had some interesting things like the temples, and we found some really cheap good restaurants while we were passing through to the beaches.
